Solar Winds places cello and piano inside a reciprocal active-amplification system. Each musician can project sound through the body of their own instrument and toward the other, so the two acoustic bodies behave simultaneously as sources, resonators and loudspeakers surrounding the audience.

White noise and recordings derived from solar magnetic-field data pass through wood, strings and soundboards. A sensor attached to the cello bow adds a second level of activation: the resonating body and the mechanism that excites it are both augmented. The electronic system remains discreet, wireless and performer-controlled.
