Programme Note
Wind excitation and bowed-string excitation are treated as two distinct ways of making an instrument “speak”, connected through discreet and reversible electronics rather than an external electronic layer.
The augmented double-bass bow develops a principle first tested with the cello in Solar Winds. Breath, bow pressure, vibration and projected resonance circulate between the performers, creating a dialogue in which acoustic gesture and electronic activation remain physically legible and directly controlled.
