Programme Note

Performing the Spaces is conceived as a mobile, site-responsive concert rather than a sequence of works presented from a fixed stage. Three musician-performers guide the audience through changing positions, distances and acoustic perspectives.

Architecture is treated as compositional material: resonance, movement, visibility and listening position continually redefine the same instrumental gestures. The work lies between concert, performance and installation, allowing the route through the building to determine the experience of musical form.
