Programme Note

Composer l’espace is a spatialised work-concert for a moving flautist and clarinettist. Conceived for the Maison du Peuple in Brussels, it activates balconies, corridors, glass passages, stage and audience area as successive resonant zones.

Over an extended trajectory, breath, multiphonics, beats, white noise and whistling sounds are transformed by direction, distance and architectural reflection. The performers’ gradual descent brings sound from the edge of visibility into the audience, making space itself an evolving instrument.
