Whispering Spaces begins from the idea that musical performance extends beyond written notes. Breath, friction, preparatory movement, incidental noise and the acoustic response of the room become active materials, functioning not only as sound but also as gesture, signal and communication between performers, audience and space.

Amplified violin, cello and piano form a shared field in which bodily energy, contact noise and resonance continually reshape one another. Amplification exposes grain, distance and decay, while some phenomena remain deliberately poised between control and unpredictability.

Notation therefore organises not only pitched sound but the conditions of its emergence and disappearance. The work asks where sound begins, what precedes it and what remains after it, allowing performance itself — gesture, resonance, residual noise and silence — to become part of the musical form.
