Programme Note

Sarments d’espace treats a fourteen-instrument ensemble as a network of branching gestures and resonant extensions. Lines unfold, divide and reconnect, allowing instrumental colour to behave like a system of shoots spreading through musical space.

Rather than treating colour as a fixed orchestral surface, the work continually redistributes it through changing densities and resonances. The ensemble becomes a field of growth in which gesture and timbre shape the perception of space.
