Un eco di soffio — Recording Session at ARSONIC

Cellists Ian-Elfinn Rosiu and Merryl Havard record Un eco di soffio at ARSONIC in Mons as part of the Souffles. Traverser l’écho recording project.

On 5 June 2027, cellists Ian-Elfinn Rosiu and Merryl Havard will record Martin Loridan’s Un eco di soffio (2019) at ARSONIC in Mons, Belgium.

Conceived for two cellos acting as a single meta-instrument, the work explores breath-like sonorities arising from bow friction, tremolo, bariolage and glissando. Fragile echoes and shifting harmonic colours emerge through close interaction between the performers.

The session forms part of Souffles. Traverser l’écho, a recording project exploring breath, sound and resonance as interconnected musical materials.
